Topic: The Church
Notes:
- The church is the people... anyone who believes in Jesus
- Jesus came to the Jews and was rejected; the Holy Spirit came to
continue the work
- The people Jesus chose as the foundation of the church were
doubting people, not brilliant or dependable; the apostles were the
foundation and Jesus the cornerstone
- Righteousness is a gift from God that cannot be earned
- You are saved by accepting the gift, not temporarily but
eternally
- Being filled with the spirit is not shouting, running and
screaming... but peace... not animation... everyone reacts
differently. He enables you to get up and keep going.
- When others are trying to figure out where the feeling is, you
can know where your faith is.
- Learn to forgive or there will be no power in your prayer
- When Jesus wasn’t with them, the disciples didn’t know what to
do... they got discouraged as we do today... haven’t been to a good
service in a while...
- You don’t have to go anywhere in particular to find revival or
power
- We get discouraged by personal failure. The closer to God
you move, the more aware of your sin you become
- Jesus didn’t call them to fight for Him but to be faithful to
Him
- They forgot His teaching and the joy... joy is coming.
