- There are no spare parts, everything is necessary
- Many sermons are high on motivation, low on facts
- We settle for carnality, thinking it's spirituality
- Add to your faith moral excellence (purify life), knowledge, faith (to see it as God says it is)

- People start with worship but don't know who they're worshipping
- Cannot raise up a godly generation with knowledge of the Word

- Belief is when I change my life to conform to what God says is true
- Story of man with gout; we hear what we want to hear
- The way to get there is to go through it
